What is the on-line Community Connection?
The Community Connection web site is a unique, grassroots driven, referral generating tool for local businesses to help promote themselves while promoting others on the site.
Unlike a yellow page directory, the Connection Community site contains only one product or service provider per industry. (e.g. one cell phone company, one plumber, one insurance agent, etc.) As a result, if you don't yet know everyone in your Connection Community, you can get to know them and feel confident referring people to them as they are referring people to you!
Who can be part of the Community Connection site?
Any business that would benefit from receiving referrals is a good fit for the site. However, it isn't open to just anyone. In order to be a part of the site, a business must be invited to join by an existing member of the Community Connection site. This helps build a sense of community among the members that allows familiarity and confidence to grow in each other. As a result, you feel more and more confident in each other to handle the referrals that are sent each way.
How does this benefit the visitors or customers?
Rather than grabbing the yellow pages and looking for someone they do not know or know nothing about, it provides some transferred credibility from the business that invited them to visit and utilize the site to the business that the visitor may have a need for. (we'll explain how that happens below.)
The Community Connection web site is designed to help visitors find local, trusted businesses and learn more about them and their products and/or services. By clicking on the general service links to the left, or the link for a specific business to the right, visitors will be directed to the business' page where they can learn about the business and obtain their direct contact information. Additionally, if the business has their own dedicated web site, a link to it can also be provided on their page.
For the visitor's convenience, each page will also have a form they can use to submit their contact information and a question to their desired business. (Click here to see how your page could look.)
So how does it work?
We mentioned "grassroots driven" earlier. Upon signing up for a page, you provide a supply of 50 pre-addressed envelopes that we will use to mail out invitations to anyone you would like to have check out the site. These people could be family, friends, customers, etc. There is no strategy to whom you should or should not invite. The letter we send on your behalf not only encourages everyone to check out the community businesses on the site, but it also reminds them to call you when they are in need of your product or service again.
Let's do some quick math. With every business sending out 50 invitations, several hundred to upwards of a couple thousand people are specifically directed to the site, and encouraged to bookmark it and refer back to it whenever they need a trusted, local product or service provider. That is a strong call to action that is as, if not more powerful than most any other media advertising available.
So far, so good! Now, how much does it cost?
The first year cost for your page on the site is $150 which covers building your page, free monthly page maintenance and the postage for your 50 invitation letters. If you like results after the first year, it's only $100 and another 50 envelopes to renew.
